Biography & Interests

I am a comparative effectiveness researcher with experience in health technology assessment/systematic reviews and decision-analytic modeling. I am a graduate of Charité Medical School in Berlin, Germany. Prior to my graduation, I was a research assistant at Charité’s Institute for Social Medicine, Epidemiology, and Health Economics and participated in health technology assessments. Subsequently, I completed a research fellowship in decision sciences at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute for Technology Assessment, working mainly on the long-term economic evaluation of clinical trials via decision-analytic models. In 2009 I graduated with a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University. My concentration there was health care policy and management. For my mater’s project (in lieu of a thesis, as required by the management track), I helped a clinical unit in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center design and implement a metric for future quality improvement effeorts. I am the author of an UpToDate card and several other peer-reviewed publications, and an ad-hoc reviewer for “Annals of Internal Medicine”, “Circulation” and other journals. I currently also serve as a co-editor of “Value in Health”, the official journal of the International Society For Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.

Baysian evidence synthesis via meta-analysis and probabilistic Markov models, with applications in systematic reviews and health technology assessments, cost-effectiveness and value of information analysis.
