    Nuestro trabajo pretende mostrar, por un lado, la importancia de la influencia FOU- CAULTiana en los estudios sobre ciencia y tecnolog a y, por otro, mostrar de !u" manera puede utiliarse el pensamiento de FOUCAULT para un estudio de las relaciones entre ciencia, tecnolog a y sociedad !ue tenga en cuenta los efectos de poder ara ilustrar la rele%ancia de estas &erramientas analiamos la emergencia de una inno%aci'n concreta: la monitoriaci'n electr'nica en el (mbito penitenciario) retendemos cartografiar las discontinuidades, las dispersiones del discurso, !ue sostienen las pr(cticas !ue &acen irrumpir y desarrollarse las diferentes materialia- ciones del dispositi%o electr'nico de control penitenciario) Al situar el an(lisis en el marco de la pregunta por las tecnolog as de poder, m(s !ue analiar simplemente las ideolog as y saberes !ue legitiman la monitoriaci'n electr'nica, o sus capacidades t"cnicas, !ueremos reseguir el conjunto de discursos, ret'ricas, %ocabularios, t"cnicas y procedimientos por los cuales el saber se entrelaa, da forma y se inscribe en el ejercicio del poder) As mostraremos c'mo la tecnolog a disciplinaria, una de las tecnolog as de poder !ue FOUCAULT mejor describi' para eplicar nuestras sociedades, se articula, alimenta o se contradice con otras l'gicas emergentes dibujando nue%as formas de regulaci'n y control social
