    Introduction This core experiment number 3 in N2064 [1] aims at providing test data for hand animation sequences in a BAP file format. Test data specify alphabet letters expressed in sign language. The BAP files are extracted from the corresponding natural video sequences. 2. Creation of the hand model used The model proposed here is made of 2 layers. The first layer describes the articulated model as a graph of geometric objects with color attributes, translations, rotations, and groups of these primitives (figure 1). It implements all the 25 parameters required for the hand animation. The bounding box of each articulated component specifies its size according to Wagner's anthropometric constraints on the morphological measures [2]. The second layer is a description of the shape of articulated components. At this time, our model only consists of simple geometric components : a parallelepiped, cylinders, and spheres (figure 2).
